FAQ'S

Do you have a question about Dermablend? Find some answers here...

Are corrective foundations too thick so they clog pores or cause spots?

This foundation is different to some conventional corrective foundations, as its texture is very light and spreads over the skin easily, allowing Dermablend foundation to cover the skin without suffocating it. Dermablend is non-comedogenic and it has been specially formulated for blemished skin. It moisturises the skin for 24h, and is suitable for any skin type, including oily skin. What’s more, it has been tested under clinical and medical control on sensitive skin. It is hypoallergenic, fragrance free and contains no parabens.

How do I remove Dermablend?

Dermablend can easily be removed with a milky cleanser and make up remover. We recommend the Pureté Thermale 3-in-1 One Step Cleanser, our most suitable product  for removing Dermablend foundation, which is also suitable for sensitive skin.

I find that foundations that are very rich in pigments dry out my skin.

Dermablend provides 24hr hydration, so it will not dry out the skin. The texture is really comfortable and does not leave your skin feeling tight.

Can I use Dermablend Corrective Foundation in conjunction with other foundations?

Dermablend Fluid Corrective Foundation does not need to be used in conjunction with other foundations. This can be used as your daily foundation and offers high coverage with a natural finish.

The Dermablend Ultra-Corrective Foundation Cream-Stick can be used as a localised concealer in conjunction with other foundations.

The Dermablend Setting Powder can also be used in conjunction with other foundations.

Can Dermablend Corrective Stick or Fluid Corrective Foundation be used as a full foundation?

Yes, you can use both Dermablend Corrective Stick and other Dermablend Foundations as a full foundation. They are suitable for all skin types, so they can be used as normal make up.

How do I match my colour?

Match the product's shade to the colour of your skin at your jaw line.
Colours can be blended together if one shade does not work for you.

Do I have to use Dermablend Setting Powder?

Dermablend Fluid Corrective Foundation and Foundation Cream Stick are long-lasting, smudge-resistant and water-resistant, but the Setting Powder helps reinforce and extend the hold of the products, increase resistance, while creating a soft and matte complexion finish.

Is Dermablend made for all skin types?

Yes, Dermablend products are suitable for all skin types.

Will Dermablend come off on my clothing or rub off?

Dermablend was developed to be rub-resistant and when applied correctly should not rub off. To learn how to apply Dermablend click here. However, there are three reasons why it may rub off:

  • Not using Dermablend Setting Powder, or not setting it well enough.
  • Using a moisturizer that is too heavy or has not absorbed completely before applying the product.

I am having trouble getting the product to cover.

First, apply a light layer. Then add a little extra where needed and blend into skin. Repeat if more coverage is necessary. Finish with Dermablend Setting Powder. Click here for more application techniques.

Can anyone use Dermablend?

Yes, Dermablend can be used on men, women and children.

When should a corrective foundation be used?

Corrective foundations contain high concentrations of pigments and micronized waxes. They therefore provide excellent coverage, concealing irregularities in skin texture or colour.

Corrective foundations are also designed to conceal light skin flaws (dark circles, acne...) to severe ones (hyperpigmentation, vitiligo, acne...). However, Dermablend can be used as your normal foundation. While corrective foundations are more concentrated and might seem thicker, they are formulated to blend efficiently when in contact with the skin, for a natural finish, with no mask effect.

Will a corrective foundation look natural?

Sometimes, poorly formulated corrective foundations, can have a mask like effect. This is essentially due to the fact that they are difficult to spread. The texture of Dermablend foundation is very different and a very small amount of the product (the size of a pea) will spread very easily over the whole face: the result is not overly thick or coated and looks perfectly natural and lasts all day long (16h coverage).

Is it difficult to apply?

The texture is very fine and it spreads perfectly which makes the application neither difficult nor time consuming. Click here for more application techniques.

Does Dermablend have sun protection?

Yes, Dermablend Corrective Fluid Foundation and Foundation Cream Stick protect the skin against UV rays with SPF35 and SPF30 respectively.
